Program Steering Committee (PSC) meeting of the EU funded TRTA-III
Program Steering Committee (PSC) meeting of the EU funded TRTA-III program for the project (Development a Sustainable value-chain for Gems & Jewellery sector in Nothern Pakistan, Gilgit Baltistan)was held on 29th September, 2016, at Islamabad. Mian Asad Hayaud Din, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Commerce co-chaired the meeting along with Mr. Amaury Hoste Representative EU.
Mr. Farooq Mir, Advisor to Chief Minister on Mineral and Industry of Government of Gilgit Baltistan was the chief guest while Mr. Umar Dad Afridi, Director, represented Pakistan Institute of Trade and Development. Mr.Masood Mir, Project Director gave presentation on the targets and achievements of the project. Mian Asad Hayaud Din, Additional Secretary informed the advisor on mineral and Industry Government Gilgit Baltistan to approach TDAP for assistance in the field of exhibitions for Gems & Jewellery and also stressed upon the need to export Germs and Jewellery with value addition. Mr. Farooq Mir also informed the participant of the PSC about the huge potential of Germs & Jewellery in Gilgit Baltistan which has the vast potential to play, vital role in the economic development of the area. Mr. Umar Dad Afridi, Director PITAD offered the assistance that PITAD can provide in the field of research for the products and sectors related to exports from GB, with approval of Ministry of Commerce.
